Beer Bread

RECIPE #1

BEER BREAD WITH NO YEAST


3 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 12-ounce can of beer

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Lightly grease a loaf pan. Combine all the ingredients, mixing well. Pour into prepared pan and bake for one hour or until golden.

BEER BREAD WITH YEAST

Beer Bread

21/2 cups flour
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 package yeast
1 cup beer
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp honey (or sugar)
1 egg

Grease and flour a 9×5 loaf pan and set aside. In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, salt and yeast and mix to blend. In a small sauce pan, combine beer butter and honey and heat to 125 to 130 degrees.

Pour beer mixture into flour and add the egg.
Mix to blend, then beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.
Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
Punch down and place in prepared pan.
Cover and let rise for 15 to 30 minutes then bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 30 – 35 minutes until bread is golden brown.
Remove from pan and let cool before serving.
